The Bahraini Securities and Investment Company (SICO) has announced that its Fixed Income Fund posted a return worth 8.7% during 2014, compared to 6.9% by SICO’s benchmark, the Barclays Emerging Markets GCC bond Index.

The Fund has delivered a return worth 7.8% since its inception, outperforming the index by 1.4% net of fees.

In its statement, the Company noted that the Fund’s first dividend stood at $2.25 per unit in 2014.

Noteworthy, the Sharia-complaint holdings in the form of Sukuk reached 38% of the portfolio by the end of 2014.
