Cairo-Mubasher: Bahrain Telecommunications Co. (Batelco) reported net earnings of BHD 49.3 million ($130.8 million) for the fiscal year ending on December 31, 2014, with a rise of 13% compared BHD 43.6 million ($115.6 million) a year earlier.

The telecom operator ascribed this profit growth to including the consolidated financial results of its subsidiary Island Portfolio, in addition to the high number of customers in the local market and the group’s robust operations.

Operating profit increased by 24% y/y from BHD 62.8 million ($166.6 million) to BHD 77.7 million ($206.1 million) in 2014.

Q4 net profit climbed 23% y/y but declined 47% q/q.

Batelco operates with BHD 166.32 million capital, divided into 1.6632 billion shares, at BHD 0.1 par value each.
