Bahrain-Mubasher: Bahrain Bourse closed in the red for the fourth straight day, pressured by Al-Salam, Alba and Batelco.

Bahrain All-Share Index fell as much as 0.26% or 3.83 point to close Wednesday at the 1464.28  level.

Trading volume reached 1.3 million shares, compared with 686,000 thousand shares on Tuesday. Turnover increased from BHD 151,000 to nearly BHD 636,000.

The industrial sector was the biggest decliner, dropping 1.98%, as Alba fell 2% to BHD 0.480.

The service sector went down 0.46%, hurt by Batelco and NASS which fell 0.58% and 4.23%, respectively.

The banking sector was down 0.17%, pressured by Al-Salam which shed 2.5% to BHD 0.117. Ahli United closed on a flat note.

On the other hand, the insurance sector headed north, climbing 1.86%, boosted by Al-Ahlia Insurance which soared 10% and ARIG which jumped 2.6%.
