Bahrain-Mubasher: Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) has recently held a management meeting to give an update on the line 6 expansion project.

Alba has been actively focused on the expansion project lately. The construction phase is due to take place upon obtaining the board, shareholders as well as other regulatory approvals and it will be expected to wrap-up after three years.

Alba’s sixth production line is expected to add around 400,000 metric tonnes to its existing capacity bringing Alba’s total production capacity to 1.3 million tonnes per annum.

"We are optimistic about the future growth prospects from Alba’s sixth production line. This new landmark will make Alba one of the largest single site smelters in the world and will be a major boost to Bahrain’s economy,” said Chairman Daij bin Salman Al Khalifa.

“We also take the opportunity to thank again the Government of Bahrain for their support towards Line 6 expansion project and their commitment to further develop the Aluminium industry in Bahrain," he noted.
