Bahraini bourse snaps two-day rise, battered by AUB, Al Baraka

Bahrain-Mubasher: The Bahrain Bourse returned to the negative territory after two days in the positive.

The benchmark lost 0.47% or 6.76 points to close Tuesday at the 1,434.12 level.

Turnover increased from BHD 185,684 to nearly BHD 599,400, and trading volume rose from 756,430 shares to 1.03 million shares.

The insurance sector was the biggest faller, plunging 2.6%, as ARIG dived 9.5% to $0.525.

The commercial bank sector declined 0.21%, as Ahli United Bank and Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait edged down 0.68% and 0.92%, respectively.

The investment sector fell 1.36%, pressured by Al Barak which was the worst performer with a loss of 9.82%.

The service was the only sector which headed north, rising 0.62%, boosted by Batelco which was up 1.2% to BHD 0.336.

Al-Salam was the top gainer of the day, climbing 3.03% to BHD 0.136.
