Bahraini bourse continues fall as investment, banks weigh

Manama – Mubasher: The Bahrain Bourse benchmark index extended Sunday its losing streak to the second successive session, as it was pressured by the fall of investment and banks sectors.

The benchmark lost 0.93% or 12.93 points to close at 1384.84 points.

Traded volume jumped to 10.9 million shares from 1.3 million shares, while traded value rose to BHD 1.28 million from BHD 450,000.

The investment sector fell by 3.45% after ABC and Al Baraka plunged by 7.90% and 1.45% in a row.

The banks sector also sagged 0.11%, weighed by AUB that went down 0.68%, as it shrugged off the rise of Ithmar and Bahrain & Kuwait by 3.33% and 0.45% respectively.

The services sector was the sole advancer, with a rise of 0.30%, fueled by Batelco that gained 0.59%.
