Bahraini bourse resumes rise on banks

Manama – Mubasher: Bahrain’s stock market ended Monday on a positive note, as the benchmark index resumed its gains after a two-session losing run, as it was backed by banks sector, in addition to services and industrials.

The benchmark rose 0.53% or 7.3 points to close at 1392.15 points.

The banks sector was the top gainer, with a rise of 0.92%, after National Bank of Bahrain, Khaleeji Commercial Bank and Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait advanced by 3.68%, 1.9% and 0.45% in a row.

The services sector also rose 0.46% backed by Batelco that ended 1.17% higher at BHD 0.346.

The industrials sector added 0.39% after Alba stock rose 0.4% to BHD 0.500.

Monday’s traded volume amounted to 794,700 shares, compared with 11 million shares on Sunday, while turnover fell to BHD 194,600 from BHD 1.28 million.
