Bahraini shares end in red; banks weigh

Manama – Mubasher: Bahrain Bourse benchmark index shut Tuesday’s session in the negative zone, shedding 0.18% or 2.51 points to 1389.63 points.

The market was weighed by banks sector, as Al Salam Bank Bahrain fell 3.5%, while AUB ended 0.68% lower. The banks sector shrugged off the rise in Ithmaar Bank and Khaleeji Commercial Bank (KHCB) by 3.23% and 1.85% in a row.

Tuesday’s traded volume amounted to 1.2 million shares, exchanged in 54 transactions at BHD 208,820.

The services sector was the sole advancer, rising 0.13%, powered by Travco and Bahrain Duty Free Shops that added 7.84% and 0.6% respectively.
