Bahrain stocks tumble to 10-day low on AUB, Batelco

Mubasher: Bahrain Bourse sagged on Sunday to continue the bear run to the fifth successive session, amid negative performance in banking and services stocks mainly AUB and Batelco.

The main index shed 0.74% or 8.8 points to close at 1,192.7 points; the lowest level in ten sessions.

Bahrain Islamic Index lost 0.66% to end at 796.4 points.

Sunday’s traded value declined to BHD 89,900 ($237,120), down from BHD 155,720 ($410,010) on Thursday. Meanwhile, traded volume amounted to 266,700, compared with 1.169 million shares.

Market capitalisation reached BHD 7.069 billion ($18.632 billion), down from BHD 7.13 billion ($18.77 billion).

The services sector led decliners, with a fall of 1.50%, due to Batelco that moved 3% lower. The banks sector drifted 1% lower due to AUB and Ithmar that lost 1.47% and 6.6% in a row.

AUB was the top active with a traded value reaching $60,700 generated from exchanging 90,000 shares in five transactions. The stock shut at $0.670.
