Tunisia’s FIPA overviews foreign investments in 2014
Tunisia’s foreign investments reached TND 1.48 billion from January to October in 2014, dropping 12.5% against the same period of 2013, while plunging 24.1% against the first ten months of 2010, reported the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA) in its recent statistics.

Meanwhile, the flow of foreign investments was divided on TND 1.34 billion of foreign direct investment (FDI), registering a decrease of 14.6%; and on TND 139.8 million of portfolio investment, an increase of 13.2%.

During the first ten months of 2014, the results of sectoral distribution of foreign investment flows indicated that the energy sector topped the list with investments reaching TND 800 million, registering a decline of 14% and 27.3% against the same period of 2013 and 2010 respectively.

Furthermore, the service sector stood at TND 271.9 million, surging 40.7% compared to the same period of 2013, while dropping 37.4% against the corresponding period of 2010.

Moreover, the industrial sector was amounted to TND 263.1 million, falling 39.7% and 38.7% against the same period of 2013 and 2010 respectively.

Noteworthy, the field of agriculture reached TND 6.2 million, registering a decline of 38.8 against the previous year, while rising 38.7% compared to the same period of 2010.
