IMF sees Tunisia GDP growth at 3% in 2015

Tunisia’s gross domestic product (GDP) growth is expected to accelerate to 3% and 3.8% in 2015 and 2016 respectively, compared with 2.3% in 2014, said the International Monetary Fund in its ‘Regional Economic Outlook’ report issued Tuesday.

The North African country previously achieved 4.4% average growth in GDP between 2000 and 2010.

Tunisia’s inflation rate is forecasted to reach 5% and 4.1% in 2015 and 2016 in a row, compared with 4.9% in 2014. Average inflation rate between 2000 and 2010 amounted to 1.5%, according to the report.
