Spanish exports to Morocco hit EUR 3.44 billion in the first seven months of 2014, an increase of 5.4% compared to the same period in 2013, the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness said Wednesday.

Morocco maintains its position as the first African and Arab destination of Spanish exports, the ministry said in a statement, noting that the Moroccan market received 2.4% of total Spanish exports.

Exports from the Iberian country to the kingdom soared to over EUR 5.5 billion last year, up 4% compared to 2012
