Dubai Customs transactions at AED 161 bln in FY13
Dubai Customs has completed a total of 337,000 customs transactions through the Client Accreditation Programme in 2013 with a value of Dh161 billion and said it had managed to step up its customer services in a way that turns its relationship with clients into an integrated, productive partnership, Emirates 24/7 reported.

Samira Abdulrazzak, Director of Client Management Department at Dubai Customs, said the programme provides a complete set of facilitations to participating clients, most prominently are the automated pre-arrival clearance, consolidated declarations and the B2G channel, which enables them to transfer declarations automatically from their systems to Mirsal 2and process their transactions and payments electronically.

"Moreover, the programme allows participants to get the services of the Client Ambassadors Initiative, through which certain employees are allocated to follow up clients’ transactions and requests directly through field visits to their work offices."

To boost this partnership, DC’s Client Accreditation Program provides top customs facilitations to participating clients, based on their level of compliance with DC systems.

Abdullah Mohammed Al Khaja, Acting Executive Director of Customer Management Division, said, "The Client Accreditation Program enhances the benefits enjoyed by clients, by eliminating some of the procedures and paper work that were needed to clear their consignments, which cuts down the cost of their business processes and reinforces their choice of Dubai as their business destination, in the light of the emirate’s competitive advantages regarding business cost efficiency and high quality services."
