Arabtec appoints Sameh Muhtadi as COO

Arabtec Holding, a leading engineering and construction group of companies specialising in complex projects in the Middle East and North Africa region, today announced the appointment of Sameh Muhtadi as Chief Operating Officer for International Operations at Arabtec Construction.

Muhtadi is a seasoned executive with a proven track record in building and leading organisations specialised in EPC contracting, real estate development, and financial investing. He is also an FSA certified financial advisor, with expertise in PPP investments in the infrastructure arena throughout the Middle East and Africa.

Muhtadi brings along over 30 years of experience in real estate development, investment, project management, and construction. He comes to Arabtec from Orascom Construction Industries, where he served as Managing director. His earlier stints included CEO Emaar Misr Development, which he led from its start-up in 2007 to become one of the biggest FDI’s in Egypt with investments in excess of USD10 billion. From 1991 to 2007 he was the Executive Vice President of Contrack-Orascom, Arlington, Virginia, USA, and from 1989 to 1991 he served as the senior contract administrator for Parsons Management, Washington D. C. Earlier, he took project management roles with AEGIS-Zublin A.G.

Muhtadi has a B.Sc. In civil engineering, from Enfield College, UK, and a M.Sc. in construction management from George Washington University, USA.
