Jubail airport to reopen in September
The Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu (RCJY) in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense is working round the clock to complete the requirements stipulated by the Civil Aviation Authority to get the license to reopen Jubail airport by September, according to Arab News.

Mosleh Al-Otaibi, CEO of the Royal Commission for Jubail, said that upon obtaining the license, the airport would begin receiving private aviation companies. He added that work is underway for the completion of the watchtowers, stands and other requirements.

“In the initial stages, the airport will witness airline operators from the military, the RCJY, and official company delegation. We will continue to coordinate with the authorities to enable the airport to operate flights for the public,” he explained.

Al-Otaibi agreed that Jubail needs the airport to reopen to serve the city in light of the expansion and development work, which is taking place in the city and nearby provinces. The airport will serve more than 500,000 visitors, investors, and workers coming into the city from both within and outside the Kingdom.
