Shares on the Dubai bourse reversed its intraday downtrend, lifted by shares in heavyweight Emaar.

As of 09:00 GMT, the index ticked up 0.55% or 10.15 points to 3950.96 points.

Shares in Emaar, the heaviest in the index, surged 4% to AED 8.8, while shares in Arabtec erased its early loss and was up 1.92%.

“There was a shift in investors’ attitude in the second part of the session. I think the retail investors were buying heavily in Emaar and Arabtec with their attractive prices,” said Nabil Hyder, head of Gulf Research in Al Madina Investment.
