ORPIC to buy $400 mln goods from Omani vendors
Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Co (ORPIC), in cooperation with Daelim and Petrofac, plans to purchase $400 million worth of goods and services from local companies in the Sultanate of Oman as part of its Sohar Refinery Improvement Project (SRIP) in-country value plan (ICV), including $21 million from small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the Al Batinah North governorate, reported Muscat Daily.

ORPIC's SRIP is a multi-billion dollar project that aims to increase the Company’s production capacity. It is slated for commissioning in 2016, an ORPIC press release said on Monday.

As part of its commitment to support ICV and vendors from the local communities, ORPIC held a workshop in Sohar to provide the owners of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from Al-Batinah North with a chance to learn about the business opportunities available to them with regards to SRIP, added the newspaper.
