UAE leads GCC in online services, ranks 32nd globally
Driven by a highly advanced e-Government portal, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) ranked second in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and seventh in Asia, according to findings of the United Nations (UN) e-Government Survey 2014, reported Gulf News.

Conducted every two years by the Department of Economic and Social Affairs, the UN e-Government Survey is the only report in the world that assesses the e-government development status of the 193 UN member states and is a tool for decision-makers to identify their areas of strength and challenges in e-government and to guide e-government policies and strategies.

It is worth noting that Bahrain ranked 18th globally, followed by the UAE in 32nd place. Moreover, Saudi Arabia trailed at 36th place while Qatar ranked 44th and Oman placed 48th.
