RAK Free Trade Zone expansion planned

RAK Free Trade Zone expansion planned
Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone (RAK FTZ), owned by the Ras Al Khaimah government, is examining new infrastructure expansion plans in order to meet growing demand and attract new segments for the emirate, reported Gulf News.

Master planning to incorporate a health care segment into the academic park is underway with construction to start in the first half of 2016, Peter Fort, RAK FTZ CEO told Gulf News in an interview on Monday, adding that the location of the health care segment has not been finalised.

On another note, RAK FTZ seeks to attract more international schools in the UAE’s northern emirate. India’s Birla Institute, Switzerland’s EPFL and UK’s Bolton University are already present in the RAK FTZ’s academic park.

Meanwhile, the RAK FTZ’s technology park, which handles light manufacturing, is set for an immediate expansion with 100 warehouses to start being delivered from November 1.
