Abu Dhabi shares snap 3-day winning streak

Shares on the Abu Dhabi bourse erased early gains Thursday and closed lower, smacked by First Gulf Bank and National Bank of Abu Dhabi losses.

ADX, the main benchmark stock index, lost 0.07% or 3.79 points to 5051.27 points.

“NBAD and FGB weighed on the index Thursday, but property stocks gains helped limit the loss,” said Nedal Khouly, head of Gulf Research in Nemma Investment.

Shares in FGB and NBAD fell 1.1% and 2.3% respectively, while Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank and Commercial Bank of Abu Dhabi climbed 0.47% for both.

The real estate sector index rose 1.08% on the back of Aldar Properties which climbed 1.04%.

Shares in TAQA climbed 1.69%, lifting the energy sector index by 0.56%, while Dana Gas closed flat/

Turnover hit AED 184.3 million, through the trade of 62.8 million shares.
