Parsons wins extra Dubai canal work
US-based consultancy Parsons has been appointed by Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to perform infrastructure design services for the Dubai Water Canal Project, reported Construction Week Online, adding that the project is worth $544 million.

This new batch of work will be added to the project management deal the firm is carrying out in a joint venture with Halcrow that was signed in May 2014, Parsons said, adding that the construction work has been broken into three packages, which are being carried out by China State Construction Engineering Co, Besix and Turkish firm Gunal.

Commenting on the news Hamed Zaghw, president of Parsons International, said “Parsons has been working with RTA for many years, and we look forward to continuing to be RTA’s partner of choice for this landmark project.”
