Abu Dhabi TDIC tenders at Saadiyat Island’s marina district
Abu Dhabi's Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC) has invited contractors to prequalify for undertaking the main contract works for the Marina District Deep Utilities Project at Saadiyat Island, reported Construction Week Online, adding that the project includes the construction of sanitary sewer and storm-water trunk lines, an irrigation transmission line, a sewerage pumping station, forcemain and a number of plot connections to these networks.

The work is to be carried out in accordance with all local authority requirements, including obtaining all necessary permits and approvals, TDIC said, adding that the deadline for prequalification submittals is September 7, 2014.

It is worth noting that Saadiyat Island is one of TDIC's flagship developments, a natural island located 500 metres off the coast of Abu Dhabi.

On the long run, the Island will house an estimated 145,000 residents with a full complement of leisure and tourism facilities, as well as civic and cultural institutions.
