The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) recorded a decline this week due to negative performance in the real estate and banking sectors. The market’s benchmark index shed 16.35 pts or 0.32% and closed at 5111.25 pts compared to last week’s closing of 5127.60 pts.
The real estate sector lost 3.85% as Eshraq Properties plunged by 27.68%, followed by RAK Properties and Aldar Properties, which lost 5.66% and 4%, respectively.
The banking sector inched down by 0.07% as First Gulf Bank (FGB) and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) lost 0.27% and 1.66%, respectively.
Etisalat’s share remained stable, prompting similar stability in the telecoms sector.
The energy sector added 1.06% as Dana Gas rose by 2.99%, whereas TAQA shed 2.61%.
A total of 412.3 million shares traded this week at a total value of AED 1.169 billion.
