Mars Inc., the global manufacturer of chocolates and confectionary, has announced opening its new Snickers production line at its plant in Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), Al Bayan newspaper reported.
The new line will raise the plant’s overall production from 60,000 to 100,000 tons per year. Moreover, it will contribute to creating more than 50 new job opportunities.
The new investment will cost $60 million (AED 220 million) to expand its manufacture facilities in JAFZA, representing a positive development as part of Mars Inc.’s continued investments in the UAE since 1993. Moreover, it reflects the Company’s continued commitment to investing in markets where its products are sold.
The plant will contribute to meeting local demand in the UAE as well as other demand in the MENA region and India, where the plant will export its products.
Sales for the global manufacturer in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) are expected to reach $5.8 billion in 2016.
