The emirate of Fujairah is planning on issuing Sukuk, most likely worth $250 million. Mumtalakat Company will select the banks that will oversee the Sukuk issuance and sale.
On another note, Flydubai is also said to be planning on issuing Sukuk, news agency Bloomberg reported, citing sources and adding that total volume Sukuk sales worldwide in 2014 has so far reached $38.8 billion against $35.1 billion in 2013.
Total bonds and Sukuk issued in the UAE during the first half of 2014 exceeded $12 billion (AED 44.2 billion), representing 55% of the total debt in the Middle East, which is estimated at (22 billion (AED 80.7 billion), according to data by Thomson Reuters.
