The UAE’s Ministry of Economy has reached agreements with cooperative communities and main selling outlets in the country to offer 3500 food and consumer products as part of the Fixed Price List for 2015.
This new list includes 500 additional items compared to 2014’s list, according to Emirates News Agency (WAM).
Dr. Hashem Al Naeemi, head of the consumer protection department at the Ministry of Economy, has revealed in Abu Dhabi press statements yesterday, adding that the Ministry’s plan for next year will begin in January and will focus on increasing the number of items with fixed prices. Moreover, the Ministry’s new scheme will not allow an increase in the prices of main goods in particular.
The Ministry will keep up with the price changes of such items in international markets, added to launching other initiatives to cut prices; these will be done in cooperation with the outlets, he highlighted.
