Twice-weekly passenger flights were resumed by Emirates to Erbil on Sunday, reported Iraq Business News, adding that Erbil has been part of Emirates’ route network since 2012.
Moreover, the route is served by an Airbus A330-200 aircraft in a 3-class configuration. It is expected that frequency on the route will rise to four flights a week starting from December 4, 2014.
“We have been closely monitoring the situation in Iraq and after a thorough review of all operational factors, we have decided to resume our services, which will help support business and international investment across numerous sectors in Erbil,” Emirates’s Divisional Senior Vice President (DSVP) Commercial Operations Sheikh Majid Al Mualla said, adding that “The resumed service will be of particular benefit to passengers connecting to the GCC.”
It is worth highlighting that Emirates currently provides services to Baghdad and Basra.
