41,000 licenses offered to GCC citizens to undertake investments
The last few years have seen an increase in the number of GCC citizens benefiting from GCC resolutions allowing them to practice economic and investment activities in other member states, Saudi Press Agency stated citing a report for the information sector of the GCC General Secretariat.
A total of 40,753 licenses were offered to these citizens until 2013, compared to nearly 11,095 licenses in 2004, with a rise of 267%.
According to the report, Saudi citizens topped the list by 18,658 licenses, or 46% of the total licenses, followed by Kuwaitis with 6,851 licenses or 17%. Omanis came third with 6,081 licenses or 15%, followed by Bahrainis with 5,948 licenses or 14%. Qataris took the fifth position (6%), followed by Emirates (2%).
