Dubai shares pare gains on Emirates NBD

Dubai-Mubasher: Dubai Financial Market (DFM) trimmed its gains on Thursday, pressured by banking stocks especially Emirates NBD.

The benchmark rose 0.75%, or 28.55  points, to shut at 3842.6  pts.

Analysts had told Mubasher that the UAE stock markets would show bullish performance on Thursday.

Liquidity declined slightly from AED 1.2 billion to AED 1.19 billion, while trading volume rose from 557.25  million shares to 586  million shares.

Six sectors headed north, spearheaded by investment which was up 1.4%. It was followed by real estate which ended 0.98% higher. Banking tailed the list, rising 0.4%.

On the negative side, services was the only sector that closed in the red, dropping 1.75%, as Tabreed fell by the same percentage to AED 1.120.

Damac was the major disappointment, tumbling 4.74% to AED 2.410.

Meanwhile, Dubai Investment and Dubai Islamic Bank rose 1.3% and 1.23%, respectively. Arabtec also advanced 0.32%. Emaar closed on a flat note at AED 7.700, and Emirates NBD lost 1.02%.
