ADX falls for 3rd session, sheds early gains

 

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) ended Wednesday in the red, marking the third successive decline this week, as the real estate and telecoms sectors turned to the negative added to the banking sector amid an overall jittery session.

The ADI lost 0.31% or 14.08 points and closed at 4516.12 points, its lowest level since January 17, 2015.

Around 78.58 million shares were traded through 1999 transactions at a turnover of AED 219.1 million against Tuesday when 84.09 million shares were traded at a turnover of AED 209.86 million.

The banking sector led losers, falling 0.49% as Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) and First Gulf Bank (FGB) lost 2.90% and 0.87%, respectively.  The telecom sector declined by 0.45% as Etisalat retreated similarly.

The real estate sector shed 0.33%, pressured by Aldar Properties, which lost 0.41%.

On the other hand, the investment sector surged by 3.19% as Waha Capital rose similarly.
