Dubai – Mubasher: DAMAC Properties, listed on the Dubai Financial Market (DFM), has announced that it will launch a tropical ecosystem within the emirate of Dubai, which will be home the first tropical rainforest in the Middle East.

“The educational and cultural dome will be housed within the company’s AKOYA Oxygen master development community as one of the premium attractions within an expansive retail and entertainment zone”, DAMAC announced in a bourse filing, adding that the Dubai Rainforest is scheduled for completion ahead of the emirates’ World Expo 2020.

The Rainforest project will become a major attraction within the emirate’s integration tourism plans, DAMAC added, highlighting that the attraction will be connected within theme parks and the world’s tallest fountain.

It is expected that Dubai will see at least 20 million tourists per year by 2020.

AKOYA Oxygen, the greenest community in Dubai, will provide new space for education and cultural events and activities, thus raising awareness of this exciting ecosystem.
