Foreign, institutional buying boosts DFM

 Dubai-Mubasher: Dubai Financial Market (DFM) got a boost from foreign and institutional buying during the last week of February.

The bourse saw an overall positive performance this week backed by the real estate and banking sectors, resuming its gains following last week’s losses.

The market’s general index (DFMGI) rose by 0.18% or seven points to 3864.67 points compared to last week’s closing of 3857.66 points.

Foreigners tended towards buying during the week, as they bought and sold shares at a total value of AED 1.2 billion and AED 1.13 billion respectively, with a buy/sell difference of AED 90.6 million.

Meanwhile, the institutions were net buyers of AED 75.3 million worth of shares, as they purchased and sold shares at a total value of AED 822 million and AED 746.7 million, successively.
