Al Khaleej Investment to increase capital through debt issue

Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: Al Khaleej Investment announced in a filing to Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) that its board approved to raise the company’s capital.

The capital will be increased through issuing bonds or sukuk, borrowing from the government, or opening subscription for current shareholders or the government.

In case of bonds and sukuk, they could be converted to shares in the future after getting the approval of Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) and the extraordinary general meeting.

Moreover, the Board had proposed a cash dividend of 10% (10 fils per share), amounting to AED 10 million for the fiscal year (FY) 2014.

Earlier, the company had reported a profit rise to AED 53.6 million ($14.6 million) during FY14, compared to AED 43 million ($11.7 million) during FY13.

It is worth highlighting that the company’s capital amounts to AED 100 million, distributed on 100 million shares at AED 1 par value.
