United Arab Emirates – Mubasher: The Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) announced that it has submitted a request to the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) to get a license to operate two nuclear power stations in the UAE.

Both stations are currently under construction in the western region in Abu Dhabi.

Applying for the license comes after five years of cooperation between ENEC and the Korean Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), the main contractor which provides reports on the safety of operations and maintenance taking place so that they are in line with the highest safety standards.
