Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) opened in the green on Tuesday, resuming its gains for the second day in a row, backed by advances in the real estate, banking and telecom sectors.

The benchmark index grew 20 points or 0.43% to 4,609 points by 10:25am UAE time. Turnover reached AED 23 million as 16 million shares were exchanged through 200 transactions.

The ADX succeeded in closing Monday at a rise on banking sector gains, despite declines in the real estate and energy sectors.

Despite recent gains, investors are still cautious about trading on UAE markets and are waiting for the right time to enter the markets, especially as liquidity remains low, analysts told Mubasher.

The real estate sector led the gainers, rising 1.01% backed by Eshraq, RAK Properties and Aldar, which added 2.35%, 1.4% and 0.78%, respectively.

The banking sector followed with a 0.52% gain, as Mashreq Bank topped the rising stocks, adding 2.87%. First Gulf Bank (FGB) and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) were also in the green.

Ranking third, the telecom sector increased 0.45% as Etisalat reached AED 11.25.

Meanwhile, the consumer staples and investment sectors shed 3.25% and 0.74%, respectively, as Agthia and Waha Capital declined.
