Dubai - Mubasher: Dubai Municipality has allocated an AED 3 billion-budget for a number of projects across the emirate in 2015, said Hussain Nasser Lootah, director general of Dubai Municipality.

The projects are in-line with the emirate’s ambitions of becoming a smart and sustainable city, Lootah said on Tuesday, speaking at the inauguration of the 10th edition of the Dubai WoodShow.

Some of the projects are focused on heritage and tourism, he noted, adding that these areas include Al-Shandagha area and Al-Fahidi Historical District, one of the oldest heritage sites in Dubai.

The exhibition has attracted over 230 exhibitors representing suppliers, manufacturers and other players from related industries, according to a press release.
