Dubai – Mubasher: Emirates NBD expects around 3 million r-banking transactions via smartphones in 2015, said Pedro Cardoso, head of multichannel and customer relationship management (CRM) at Emirates NBD on Wednesday.
Smartphone users interested in e-banking services surged 274% between 2012 and 2014, Cardoso said on the sidelines of a press conference by Emirates NBD.
On Wednesday, the bank announced offering a new bundle of e-banking services in the region via the bank’s mobile application. With this new bundle, Dubai’s largest bank will be the first bank in the Middle East, Africa and Asia to offer cheque-depositing facilities via mobile phones.
Cardoso said that the amended version of the mobile app will allow the bank to expand its service range, to raise the number of e-transactions to more than 100 via the app, the bank said.
Emirates NBD’s app ranks first in finance section in the UAE’s app store and has been downloaded more than 500,000 times, the official added.
