Dubai – Mubasher: Emirates Insolaire, a subsidiary of Glass LLC and a joint venture between Dubai Investments (DI) and Switzerland’s SwissINSO SA, has carried out the first-of-its-kind coloured solar glass instalment for a building in Switzerland, DI revealed in a statement on Tuesday.

The cost of this installation amounts to AED 850,000 ($231,400) and will result in the production of electricity to meet the needs of two families comprising four members each.

Emirates Insolaire also carried out two projects one in the Swiss city of Basel and another in Austria, the statement revealed, adding that the JV company has received various enquiries about the coloured solar glass from local, regional and international bodies.

Based on these enquiries, DI said it expects its subsidiary to register sales covering 50,000 square metres of solar coloured glass in 2015.

Established in November 2013, Emirates Insolaire uses Kromatix™ patented technology which provides finished, coloured glass on both Photovoltaic and Thermal solar panels.
