Dubai-Mubasher: The UAE seeks to deepen its ties with Japan through forming a comprehensive economic partnership, said UAE's Economy Minister Sultan Al-Mansouri.

He noted that Japan is the UAE’s sixth largest commercial partner and the world’s third largest economy in terms of gross domestic product (GDP).

An official delegation from the UAE, headed by Al-Mansouri, will visit Japan during 29-30 September, to strengthen the commercial and investment ties between the two countries.

Despite the diversity of the UAE's exports to Japan over the last few years to include aluminum and copper, crude still accounts for two-thirds of the trade exchange between the two countries, the minister said.

He added that the trade exchange between the UAE and Japan reached about $14 billion last year.
