Kuwait's Central Bank in talks with SAMA over KWD exchange crisis

Kuwait's Central Bank in talks with SAMA over KWD exchange crisis
Informed sources revealed that currency exchange firms and banks in Saudi Arabia have said that they will no longer exchange the Kuwaiti Dinar (KWD) as of Sunday, June 29th, following a statement by the governor of the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) on changing the current KWD currency on that date, reported Al Anbaa newspaper.

Messages filled the social media world warning pilgrims that banks and currency exchange offices in Mecca no longer accept the KWD.

The CBK is currently coordinating with the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) to find out the reasons behind this confusion created by Saudi banks and currency exchange offices, stated a CBK official, adding that the bank is constant contact with all related authorities and bodies as the new-currency launch date approaches.
