Delta Sugar Co.(DSC) plans to raise selling prices in February in response to the upturn in fuel prices and electricity, Chairman Abdel Hamid Salama told Shorouk News.
He added that the cost of production will increase by about EGP300/ton for the increased cost of the natural gas that is used heavily in the company's production process. This cost increase excludes the increase in the cost of transportation and distribution.
Furthermore, the chairman expected an increase in the cost of cultivation which by turn will force the company to increase its purchasing price. Additionally, he pointed out that that the current season has ended and the prices will increase next year.
