The Iraqi Oil Minister Abdul Karim Leaibi assured that "Iraq produces now more than three million barrels of crude oil per day," expecting the Iraqi exports of Oil during July to "reach 2.6 million BPD." Leaibi has arrived on Wednesday in Basra province to observe the work of the oil fields and foriegn and local companies operating there. The Iraqi Oil Minister said during his tour in Rumaila oil Field that "Fighting in the north and west of Iraq did not affect the production and exportations of oil from the south of Iraq since the capacities of the exportation facilities have been expanded to reach more than 3 million barrel per day." "I have informed the representatives of the international oil companies working in Basra that security procedures around the southern oil facilities have been intensified and the situation is stable in the south," according to Minister Leaibi.
