The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) will auction EGP 6.5 billion in treasury bills today, Sunday, July 27.
91- and 273-day treasury bills will be offered at a value of EGP 2.5 billion and EGP 4 billion respectively.
The country’s budget deficit is expected to exceed EGP 240 billion by the end of the current fiscal year. It is financed through treasury bills and bonds, in addition to financial aid and loans from Arab and foreign countries.
