Indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) soared before session-close on Sunday, backed by blue chips especially in the real estate sector.
The benchmark index EGX30 jumped 1.46% or 136.53 points to reach 9509.8 points; thus crossing the 9500 barrier for the first time in more than six years (in 73 months).
The small and mid-cap index EGX70 rose 1.64% or 10.7 points to 663.02 points.
The broader index EGX100 gained 1.34% to reach 1181.14 points.
Real estate stocks advanced, led by TMG that climbed 3.98%, United Housing (+3.95%), Upper Egypt Contracting (+2.99%) and Madinet Nasr Housing (+2.21%).
