Oman’s water supply project Wadi Dayqah is said to receive $176 million (OMR 67.8 million) in funding from the Jeddah-based Islamic Development Bank (IDB), according to Construction Week Online.
The project is implemented to ensure the sustainability of water resources in the Sultanate.
IDB’s board of executive directors has also approved $987 million in funds for new socio-economic development projects in member countries and Muslim communities in non-member countries, the Saudi bank said in a statement on its website, adding that the approvals include projects such as $226.8 million for development of Sharm-El-Sheikh International Airport and $198 million for the Assiut oil refinery upgrade in Egypt.
