Abu Dhabi gold sales surge 40% in two weeks
Officials in Abu Dhabi gold shops have revealed that over the past two weeks, gold sales rose by 20-40% compared to August. This is due a global decline in the prices of the precious metal, they said.

One gram of 24-Carat gold reached AED 145.08, registering an AED 4 decline, compared to early-week pricing, while 22-Carat gold was seen at AED 132.99, registering an AED 5 drop. Moreover, 21-Carat and 18-Carat gold were seen at AED 126.95 and AED 108.81 respectively.

Gold prices fell to their lowest level in eight months last week, as the metal recorded its highest loss since late May after falling by 3.1%.
