Dana Gas, listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX), rose significantly on Monday after winning two onshore concessions in the Nile Delta as part of the 2014 EGAS bidding round recently held in Egypt.

Dana’s share rose by 2.99% to AED 0.69, prompting the energy sector to record gains of 2.26% and boosting the ADX index, which ended at a 0.42% gain today.

Around 12.7 million Dana Gas shares changed hands through 93 transactions worth AED 8.7 million. Dana Gas ranked second in terms of trade volume after Eshraq Properties.

These gains coincide with Dana Gas’ Egyptian subsidiary Dana Gas Egypt won two concession awards in the Nile Delta region.
