Indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) headed north during this week and market capitalization added approx. EGP 4.5 billion backed by active buying on bank and real estate stocks ahead of Eidul Adha holiday.
The benchmark index EGX30 rose 0.31% or 29.87 points to end at 9727.18 points, after trimming the week’s gains during Wednesday and Thursday.
The small and mid-cap index EGX70 also advanced 4.42% or 27.4 points to 647.74 points, compared with 620.3 points last week.
The broader index EGX100 gained 3.25% or 37.14 points to 1181.1 points, compared with 1143.9 points last week.
The stock market will officially close starting Sunday till Tuesday, September 5-7, on the occasion of Eidul Adha. The market will reopen on Wednesday, October 8.
