The Egyptian market has received textiles worth AED 25 million (EGP 50 million) from the United Arab Emirates during the first half of 2014, a report by Egypt’s General Organisation for Export and Import Control (GOEIC) has revealed.
UAE exports to Egypt in the textile sector in 2013 had reached AED 45 million (EGP 91 million) compared to EGP 64 million in 2012.
The UAE tops the countries in terms of the highest activity in commercial trade in the ready-made clothes sector in terms of imports and exports with Egypt, followed by Saudi Arabia, Syria and Lebanon, respectively.
