The National Bank of Egypt (NBE) will start paying returns on Suez Canal certificates on December 7 through all of its branches, according to Al-Masry Al-Youm daily.
Mahmoud Montasser, NBE’s deputy chairman, said proceeds of the lender’s subscription to the certificates reach EGP 38.5 billion.
Montasser added that the bank will pay returns for those holding certificates starting from EGP 1000 and their multiples only. He noted the returns of certificates worth EGP 10-100 will not be paid except after the expiry of the certificate period (five years).
